First song

Today Keya sang the Alphabet song in tune for the very first time! She pronounces the A-B-C correctly and for the rest of the letters she sings whatever sound she wants, but the tune is perfect! Her dad and I are so happy :-)

I have also started singing the Phonics song to her for over a month now, and she can say the phonic sound aloud after each verse.

We have had several guests staying with us this week and Keya absolutely loves the company and attention of so many people. She has learnt several new words, in English, Marathi and Malay.

Big girl now

Keya is able to drink milk from the bottle all by herself now. She even resists if one of us tries to hold the bottle to help her. She tries to pry our hands away from the bottle, one finger at a time!

Learning to pray

Keya is back to her usual playful self. She LOVES to be put on the kitchen worktop. She fiddles with the tins and utensils on the worktop, opens the overhead cabinets and pulls out stuff from in there. She likes to pull down the sugar container so that I can open it and give her some sugar from it :-) She also enjoys doing Bappa Morya (joins hands in prayer).

Keep Walking

My little baby is now a toddler. She is still not walking confidently and stumbles now and then. Yet she loves to walk so much, that even when we take her downstairs to play, all she wants is to walk around! Here is a video of her walking at home.

Chicken Pox!

My poor baby contracted chicken pox last week. We were surprised and dismayed that she should catch this at such a young age. The good thing is, as she is so small, she is hurting much less (compared to older children and adults) and her fever lasted only a day. Her rash is slowing shrinking and fading, but she has socks on her arms to stop her from scratching herself. Last night was the first night she slept through without waking up (last 2-3 nights she woke up frequently and cried). Today we gave her a bath with warm water and Dettol. She thoroughly enjoyed playing in the tub.

Missing Aaji & Maushu

Keya’s Aaji & Maushu have left and the house seems very empty now. Keya seems okay, but I am sure she has begun to miss them. Since last evening, she has been cranky and somewhat irritable, especially when all three of us were busy cleaning up and clearing the house. She misses having so many pepple at home to play with her.
